The Coordination Meeting among Energy Stakeholders was held
The Minister of Mines and Petroleum, Mohammad Haroon Chakhansuri, attended the coordination meeting of energy sector stakeholders, via video conference this afternoon.
In that gathering, Attaullah Naseeb, Director of Investment Facilitation Unit of the Presidential Administration, Dawood Noorzai, CEO of Da Afghanistan Breshna (Power) Company, Popal Habibi, Deputy Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Narendra Singhro ADB President for Afghanistan and the Representatives of the Ministry of Finance, USAID, GIZ and World Bank were attended.
The Minister of Mines and Petroleum, Mohammad Haroon Chakhansuri, said, “Mining activities require sustainable energy. One of the reasons for having slow growth in extractive industries sector, is the lack of energy. In order to speed up the affairs of Mining Sector, related administrations should implement their Development Programs in the areas where Mining Activities are carried out.”
Mr. Chakhansuri spoke and provided comprehensive information about Afghanistan's Minerals, Oil &Gas Resources which play important role in producing of energy, Especially Bayat Power, Mazar-e-Sharif, TAPI, Toti Maidan and Coal.
At the meeting, other participants also shared their views and decided to create an Energy Sector Coordination Unit for regulatory and technical consultations form energy.
