The first Meeting between Afghanistan- Czech and Slovak on Trade and Investment Opportunities was held

In this meeting, Minister of Mines and Petroleum, Muhammad Haroon Chakhansuri, with the presence of Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani, Minister of Industry and Commerce, Atauallah Naseeb, General Director of Investment Facilitation Unite, Kabir Isa Khel, General Director of National Procurement, and Ambassador Shahzad Gul Aryobi, attended the two-day meeting under the title of Trade and Investment Opportunities between Afghan- Czech and Slovak’s officials.

Minister of Mines and Petroleum, besides, presenting information about the existing opportunities on Afghanistan's Minerals and hydrocarbon reserves said, “Afghanistan has worth of trillions of dollars Mineral and Hydrocarbon Reserves.” And also, asked the Government of Czech Republic and private sector to invest on the existing opportunities in Afghanistan’s mines sector.

Mr. Chakhansuri said that the Czech Republic had cement factory in Heart- Afghanistan in the past, which is still well-known for its significant activities in the mentioned field, and Afghanistan wants to build a cement factory in this and other areas. Therefore, Afghanistan wants to attract the investment of the Government of Czech Republic and Private Sector.

In addition to the existing opportunities available in the sector, Minister also provided information about the legal reforms and the process of electronic or digital system that is in the process of implementation in Afghanistan, Particularly, in the Ministry of MoMP.

At the end of the session, Mr. Chakhansuri thanked the Czech Republic for hosting the meeting and said that the government of Afghanistan hopes to develop Afghanistan through extractive industry sector.
