Barite Mining Contract Signed for Parwan Province 

Mr. Hedayatullah Badri, Minister of Mines and Petroleum, on Monday, August 3, 2026, signed contract for the extraction of the Barite Mine located in the Farnajal area of Surkh Parsa District, Parwan Province, with Nabi Afghan Mine extraction and Processing Company.

The contract covers an area of (11.27) hectares, with a total investment of (106) million AFN, and it is valid for a period of five years.
The company is committed to paying a royalty of (850) AFN. In addition, it will create employment opportunities for (300) people. Furthermore, the company has established a barite processing plant within the country.
