The work progress of BAYAT POWER PLANT; in production of electrical energy from natural gas

The production machinery of producing electrical energy from Shebirghan’s natural gas, with (42) megawatt electricity production capacity; is a private sector investment project which is located in Yatim_taq area of Shebirghan city in Jawzjan province.

The contract of the mentioned project has been concluded with Bayat power company for 5 years. According to this contract, with innovation of the electrical energy production machinery Bayat power is supplying the demanded gas through Afghan_Gas public enterprise and sells the produced energy to DABS.

Main responsibilities of Ministry of Mines and Petroleum on this project:

  • Supplying the demanded gas for electric production machinery till the due date of the contract.
  • Discovery of gas containing areas of Yatim_taq by excavation of extraction pits, filtering and processing the gas.
  • Transferring the demanded gas to consumers.

The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum has executed its main responsibilities up to more than 70% On the basis of division of this project’s duties. It has to be mentioned; that in order to dissolve the challenges of this project, the technical team of concerned members passes of their weekly common work meetings under this ministry’s management and the mentioned project will shortly be completed and deposited for exploitation.
