The MoMP signed MoUs with (9) institutions
For the first time, the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum has signed Memorandum of Understandings with nine institutions including Chamber of Commerce and Investment, Afghanistan International Chamber of Commerce, Afghan Women Chamber of Commerce and the industries, Afghanistan Chamber of Industries and Mines, National Environment Protection Agency, German-Afghan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kabul University, Polytechnic University, and the Salah Consortium. The MoUs signed by H.E Enayatullah Momand, the technical deputy minister and acting minister of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum today at the ministry's conference hall.
At this meeting, the acting minister of MoMP expressed his gratitude to the guests and participants and called the cooperation between the MoMP and these institutions a good step towards using the existing capacities to improve the extractive sector of the country.
“To make a certain mechanism for determining the position of stakeholders especially private sector in the extractive industries sector and to use the existing capacity of the sector toward generating revenue and to convert the ministry from consumable to revenue ministry, we want to sign this MoU.” Said H.E Momand.
The acting minister added that by signing of this MoU the mechanism for sharing information, accountability and following up on the responsibilities contained in the Memorandum of Understanding would enhance work efficiency.
In addition, each of the representatives of these institutions respectively spoke about the effectiveness of signing these MoUs and thanked the leadership of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum for securing such a good initiative.
In the end, the MoUs were signed between H.E Enayatullah Momand the acting minister of Mines and Petroleum and the authorities of the mentioned institutions.
