MoMP awarded 10 Small-Scale Mining project licenses to the domestic companies

Ministry of Mines and Petroleum awarded 10 Small-Scale Mining projects licenses according to the provisions of the mining law to the domestic companies during a ceremony at MoMP’s conference hall on February 4th, 2020.


In the ceremony, H.E Enayatullah Momand the acting minister of Mines and Petroleum awarded 10 Small-Scale mining construction material project licenses to the domestic companies operating in Herat, Ghor, Daikundi and Balkh provinces of Afghanistan. DM for Policy and Programs Mr. Waliullah Zadran, DM for Geological Survey Mr. Hussain-Dad Shafayee, chiefs of different departments of the ministry, and representatives of the Private Sector have also participated.


During the ceremony, the Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum besides expressing his gratitude to the participants and guests said to the private sector that they should observe the environmental and social standards in implementing of projects because the bidding process has been accomplished according to the new mining law. He added that the private sector should be committed to their commitments with the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum.


In addition, H.E Momand added that the other mining contracts have been referred to the High Economic Council recently and will be approved soon.
 At the end of the program the mentioned licenses awarded to the companies’ authorities by the Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum Ministry.
