First meeting of the MoMP and Fortescue Metal Group LTD technical teams was held

Muhammad Haroon Chakhansori met with the members of Australian company, Fortescue Metal Group LTD via video conference. The meeting was also attended by Ataullah Naseeb, Head of Afghanistan Investment Facilitation Unit. The meeting stressed on the better coordination among technical teams, as well as sharing timely information.

Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum, Muhammad Haroon Chakhansori said that the Australian company’s interest in Afghanistan extractive industry sector is a great opportunity for Afghanistan to strengthen relations with Australia and effectively utilize the natural resources.

Mr. Chakhansori added that the MoMP technical team will work closely with the company to share timely information for better coordination.

According to MoU between MoMP and Fortescue Metal Group LTD, the Group will invest in various sections and will also help develop technical capacities.
