MoMP is considering capacity building programs for women in technical aspects of the extractive industries sector; says M. Haroon Chakhansori
Minister of Mines and Petroleum, Muhammad Haroon Chakhansori was invited by the Human Rights, Civil Society and women commission of the Wolesi Jirga (Lower House) and met with the head and members of the commission.
Naheed Farid, head of the commission welcomed MoMP leadership and shared her views about the meaningful contribution and effective participation of women in extractive industries sector.
Muhammad Haroon Chakhansori said that we are committed to creating a safe environment for women, and according to this commitment, we have prepared a comprehensive gender procedure in the last five months.
While referring to the effective contribution of women in the mining industry, Mr. Chakhansori said that we are planning capacity building programs for women in the technical aspects of the extractive industries sector. Women will also participate in product processes and management, he added.
