Minister of Mines and Petroleum Meets with the Ambassador of Uzbekistan

Mr. Hedayatullah Badri, Minister of Mines and Petroleum, met with Oybek Usmanov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan, in his office on Sunday, 12 July 2026.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the expansion of bilateral cooperation, strengthening trade and economic relations between the two countries, and particularly investment in Afghanistan’s mineral resources.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan expressed his appreciation for the hospitality of Ministry’s leadership and commended the achievements of the Islamic Emirate across various sectors. He also expressed the interest of Uzbek investors in investing in Afghanistan’s mineral resources. Furthermore, he spoke about the existing challenges related to the Toti Maidan Project and shared his views and recommendations regarding the matter.
The Minister of Mines and Petroleum welcomed the interest of Uzbek investors in Afghanistan’s mining sector and reaffirmed the Ministry’s full cooperation and support to attract, encourage and facilitate foreign investment in the country.
