Qualifications: Minimum of bachelor in Law
Management and Professional Experiences:
5 -8+ years of experience in a legal position with reputed organizations and NGOs.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in contract and commercial law.
- Experience reviewing international contracts.
- Knowledge of the oil and gas sector preferred.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Excellent organization skills needed for managing workload and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to on won initiative.
- Ability to produce accurate work.
- Ability to travel to provinces
Job Purpose:
Providing the Company with timely and accurate legal advice on issues relating to the Laws of Afghanistan.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide legal opinions on points of Afghan law and advising on the minimum liability and legal exposure for the Company
- Review and provide legal advice on contracts, legal issues, Company policies and ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements in Afghanistan.
- Update the Legal Manager and top management on changes to the laws and regulations of Afghanistan and implications for the Company
- Ensure proper drafting of the legal documents and other contractual documents after a full briefing
- Manage internal and external legal resources in Afghanistan
- Represent the organization in legal disputes when required to ensure the desired outcome
- Ensure that the organization complies with the legislation
- Fill the Company’s legal documents after having them processed and signed by a respective government authority.
- Review and analyze laws, regulations, and cases related to specific industries such as insurance, banking, or securities trading to advise companies on how to comply with legal requirements.
- Prepare legal papers and briefs, researching legal issues, and drafting legal documents such as contracts, trusts, and business agreements.
- Ensure all health and safety practices are followed. Maintaining a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues. Identifying and informing the HSE department of any hazards in the workplace.
- Complete any other duties or tasks assigned by your Department Manager.
