Nangarhar Talc Mine Contract Signed

 Mr. Hedayatullah Badri, Minister of Mines and Petroleum, signed a contract for the Talc Mine located in the Shinwari area of Spin Ghar District, Nangarhar Province, on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, with the President of  Omar Farooq Talc Processing Company. 
The mine covers an area of (6.75966) square kilometers, and the contract is valued at(4,518,300) USD.
During the signing ceremony, the Minister of Mines and Petroleum said that the signing of this contract will create employment opportunities and facilitate economic activities for the local residents; moreover, extraction and processing of the mine would be carried out in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations.
He added that the contracting company would pay a royalty of (1,320) AFN to the Islamic Emirate for each ton of talc extracted from the mine.
In addition, the company would provide social services to the local residents.
Meanwhile, the President of the company pledged that all activities would be carried out in accordance with mining laws and procedures.
