Duties & Responsibilities:
The candidate required to perform the following:
- Prepare well data sheets.
- Design and select well-head equipment
- Draw up drilling programmes, taking account of desired production flow rates.
- Obtain relevant data, carrying out engineering analysis on site, recommending necessary actions and writing up reports.
- Monitor the daily progress of well operations.
- Keep track of current daily costs, comparing actual costs with expenditure proposals and recommending cost-effective changes.
- Monitor safety and ensure the good maintenance of the well.
- Adhere to environmental protection standards, in some cases through direct discussion with local governments to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
- Evaluate the desirability and feasibility of a well site, collect a significant amount of data to project daily output levels.
- To keep drilling operations on track, drilling engineer may make daily operational calls, check the accuracy of reports, run risk assessments, or adjust logistics.
- Act as focal point for issues related to Drilling Operation for his assigned team.
- Drive teams to continually improve well-site safety procedures and ensures proper application of such procedures.
- Help in keeping management abreast of activities during emergency situations, i.e well blowouts, release of H2S gas, oil spills, etc.
- Approve work conducted by contractor in accordance with AFG regulations, company standards and in compliance with contract clauses.
- Aid in preparation mud logs, casing arrangements and well completion reports, and assists the operation manager in day-to-day activities.
- Track performance of rig/project, service company performance, operational problems, equipment failure reports, QHSE issues and lessons learnt.
- Ensure Operation, Performance policies and procedures, witness testing of the quality of material equipment to ensure the adequacy of the testing procedure.
- Conduct daily field monitoring and provide onsite technical assistance to the drilling crews, and make sure work is going according to schedule.
- Assist in Planning, drilling, well completion and work over operations, ensuring that all operations are thoroughly researched, engineered, and programmed.
- Undertake engineering design and the planning of wells (including development work) design directional well paths (horizontally or multi-laterally, as appropriate).
- Any other duty assigns by the upper management.
Minimum Requirements:
Hold a bachelor or higher degree in Drilling Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Earth Sciences or Petroleum Geology etc.
Minimum of five years of proven experience in oil and gas field.
Experience in using applications relating to data petroleum engineering, drilling simulation etc.
English language fluency with the capability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing
