- Scope of Work
Observe and report for pipeline projects while enforcing code and standards to protect the integrity of pipe etc.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Inspect contractors during the installation of large pipeline projects.
- Supervised a team of three inspectors on various pipeline projects.
- Performed all duties in the build of multiple pipeline projects liquid, oil etc.
- Lead inspector over shipping and receiving of all materials for multiple pipeline projects.
- Monitored ambient conditions and inspected all surface prep before and after coating applications.
- Maintained logs of certifications for contractor coating personnel and inspection equipment calibration.
- Inspect the coating of pipe by holiday detector test and identify the defects on coating of pipe.
- Ensured certification inspection equipment under organization metrology calibration programs.
- Understand and enforce customer's specifications for surface preparation and coating applications.
- Prepared reports and documentation for all surface preparation and coating activities.
- Monitor weather conditions prior to surface preparation and painting operations.
- Surface preparation, surface cleanliness, documentation, ambient and surface readings, application of below and above ground coatings.
- Documented daily activities of contractors along with quality inspection reports and safety audits.
- Completed inspection reports and required documentation.
Qualification and Experience:
- Minim Bachelor Degree in relevant field
- Current offshore BOSIET / Survival Certificate (preferred);
- NACE 2 or B GAS / FROSIO accreditation;
- Seaman's Book (preferred);
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as Coating Inspector.
- Prepare plan correction reports.
- Communicate effectively in oral and written form.
- Certificate of holiday detector test
Skills and Abilities:
- Good leadership, communication and inter-personal skills, with demonstrable ability
- to motivate others.
- Fluent in English.
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of MS Office.
- Identify and define technical and administrative problems, identify and evaluate
- alternative solutions, and select and implement the best alternative
- Prepare plan correction reports
- Review proposed projects to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Communicate effectively in oral and written form
- Knowledge of pipeline construction methods and technologies in API and ASME standards.
- Knowledge of construction methods and technologies, and ability to interpret technical drawings and contract.
