Bamyan Iron Mine Contract Signed

Mr. Hedayatullah Badri, Minister of Mines and Petroleum, signed the contract for the iron mine located in Yakawlang District of Bamyan Province with Nazari Rahimi and Khan Waziri Companies. The mine covers a total area of (85) square kilometers, with total investment of $438,961,626 and (20) percent of royalty.

At the beginning, the Minister of Mines and Petroleum spoke about the mentioned mine and stated that the contract has been concluded for a period of 30 years, provided that the companies carry out their activities and operations in accordance with the mining laws,procedures and their commitments.
He further said that, based on the commitments and agreements with the contracting companies, 100 percent of the processing activities will be conducted within the country.
Additionally, while discussing social services and other related matters, he said that the implementation of the aforementioned projects will create directly and indirectly employment opportunities for Afghan citizens.
