Job Summary:

Collaborate and providing technical services in facilitating and developing the working plans of the General Mining Inspection Directorate in accordance with the law and regulations.

Skills Description:

The incumbent must demonstrate the following skills:

·      Broad knowledge of mining extraction in Afghanistan.

·  Strategic thinking and planning capability with a positive approach to opportunities and initiatives regarding Mineral Sector developments in Afghanistan.

·      Understanding of local government frameworks, including roles and responsibilities, and the ability to work effectively with other staff and directorates.

·      Self-motivating, reliable, consistent and mature approach to work

·   Ability to work independently and in teams Self-motivated with a drive for results, improvement and innovation

·     Organizing and programing skills

·     Operational and problem solving skills

·     Have the ability to judge and making decision

Duties & Responsibilities:

·      Full knowledge of mining methods and procedures, enrichment, in accordance with international standards.

·      Preparing plans for the inspection of small and large scale mines

·      Providing advice to the General Mining Inspection Director on the implementation of approved regulations regarding mining methods.

·      Inspect both large and small mining scales.

·      Preparing a plan for the illegal extraction of mining and legalizing of them according to the mining law.

·       Draft a procedure for imposing fines on miners, who broken the mining law and regulations.

·      Providing advice on reviewing exploration, mining, health and safety plans.

·      Providing advice on conservation feasibility studies reports.

·      Stabilizing explosive materials for various mining.

·      Preparing plan for the usage of explosives materials to contractors’ companies.

·      Any other job related tasks as assigned from time to time by the General Mining Inspection Director and high authorities. 

Job Location:

Afghanistan, Kabul

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must have minimum Bachelor Degree in Geology, Mining Extraction or any other related field. A Master Degree is highly preferred. With 5 Years of working experience in relevant field.
  • Supervision of Junior staff
  • S/he should possess excellent writing and speaking skills in Pashto, Dari and English.
  • S/he must be well versed in MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint and etc.
