Signing of the Poly-Metallic Mine Contract of Faryab Province

Mr. Hidayatullah Badri, Minister of Mines and Petroleum, signed the contract for the poly-metallic mine located in the Seh Ko area of Kohistan District, Faryab Province, on Sunday, 3/5/2026 with Abu Saeed Mining Extraction Company.
The contract covers a total area of 1.12 square kilometers and involves a total investment of  24.332 million USD. The agreement was signed in the presence of the Ministry’s advisers and a number of departmental directors.
At the first, Minister of Mines and Petroleum delivered remarks regarding the aforementioned mine, stating that the contract has been concluded for a period of 30 years, provided that the company conducts its operations and activities in accordance with the applicable mining laws, procedures, and contractual commitments.
He further added that, alongside social service initiatives and other related matters, the implementation of the project is expected to create employment opportunities for 130 Afghan citizens. In addition, the royalty for the aforementioned mine has been set at 16 percent of pure gold.
