Mohammad Haroon Chakhansuri: We have outlined such a future for the mining sector that would benefit every member of the society

The Minister of Mines and Petroleum, Mohammad Haroon Chakhansuri, introduced the Deputy Minister of Policy and Programs, Mohammad Atiq Zaki, to the staff of the Ministry in a special ceremony this afternoon.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Mohammad Hamid Yousufi, Deputy Minister of Finance and Administration of MoMP, read out the President's Decree on the appointment of Deputy Minister of Policy and Extractive Programs.

Minister of Mines and Petroleum Mohammad Haroon Chakhansuri, congratulated Mr. Mohammad Atiq Zaki on his new responsibilities and said, “MoMP is a vital sector for the economic well-being of the country and people. We are committed to create sustainable dynamism in the sector and for achieving this goal, we need to attract the most talented national employees to implement effective programs based on the Ministry's vision and the priorities defined in the Mining Roadmap.”

Mohammad Haroon Chakhansuri added: "We have outlined such a future for the sector which would benefit every member of the community, ensure economic prosperity and increase the level of national income."

Mohammad Atiq Zaki, Deputy Minister of Policy and Extractive Programs, thanked the leadership of the government and the leadership of MoMP for their trust, and said, “I have a better understanding of the importance of the mines sector, with this knowledge, I will work with full commitment to further develop this sector.

Mr.Zaki added that conducting targeted research is the only way to respond to the current challenges in the mining sector and create efficiency. In order to create greater efficiency in the mining sector, policy-making and oversight role is required to develop its core functioning.
